2019 © Hike to Yoga LA

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where do we meet for the self-guided hike?
We will be meeting at 7 am at the Eastern Trailhead, closest traffic intersection is La Brea and Don Lorenzo. Take the steps up to the park map.

What if I only want to do the yoga class, what is the easiest way to get to yoga at 8 am?

You can pay $6 for parking, enter at the La Cienega entrance, and park right by the Bluff. Walk about 2 minutes down the Bluff to the 9/11 Memorial Tree.

When I enter "Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area" in my GPS, why does it give me an address on La Cienega?

The La Cienega entrance is the official entrance to the park. There is a $6 parking fee on the weekends; I have heard that only cash is accepted.

Bring $6 Cash for the La Cienega entrance

When and where do we meet for the yoga class?

We will be meeting at 8 am at the Bluff by the 9/11 Memorial Tree for the yoga class. The photo of the bottom left is the entrance to the Bluff, right next to the Burke Roche picnic area with public restrooms and water fountain. Take this path all the way down until you reach the end, with a tree encased by a circle iron gate AKA the 9/11 Memorial Tree.

This is the "Bluff" Entrance

Walk all the way down until you see this tree!

Who will be teaching the yoga classes? Will the classes be beginner-friendly?

We have an awesome team of H2Y Teacher Ambassadors, who are ready to share their knowledge and inspire anyone who is ready for their first yoga class! Follow our social media to see who's teaching!

What should I bring?
Your yoga mat, yoga towel, beach towel, or just do yoga on the earth! (Might be wet from morning dew!) Bring your own reusable water bottle, there is a water fountain by the Bluff area.

Do I have to carry my mat when I do the hike?
YES, please plan accordingly. If you do not have a mat strap or bag, you will need to carry your mat during the hike. You can DIY your own mat strap with a rope or scarf!
